Gabrielle interviews S-Factor’s Sheila Kelley

Did you experience a personal healing as a result of discovering S Factor?
I never knew the side of myself that came out through dancing. It was more than healing, it’s what I call becoming whole. Through the journey of the movement I became whole in a way that I would never have experienced. So many women have this open gaping hole of loneliness. They think a man will fill it, food will fill it, they think a baby will fill it, work will fill it. But the only thing missing is a sense of self.

You are a perfect example of a clear channel to receive inner guidance. Is that what the S Factor journey is about? Releasing old ideas to discover your inner voice?
It’s just creating truth and allowing women to be in love with who and what they are without altering it to suit some other being that they’re not. Dancing gives women complete freedom to be and find and discover a part of themselves they never knew. And that’s huge. There is a surrender that has to happen and you begin to delve into an emotional place.

Intuitively, I know you are working with powers greater than you. I would love to hear how your spirit moves through you.
I was very shy as a child and danced all the time. I speak to bodies better than I speak to brains. I have a dark history as far as my body is concerned and that built an incredible amount of empathy, so when I see a body suffering I can’t leave it. My body will go talk to that body without my brain thinking about it. I can feel where they hurt. I can feel where there is tension, so my body will go hey how about this? It’s instinct and that thing that we call, “intuition.”

Let’s talk about repetition. There is a 30 day element to my book – 30 days of repetition to change. I put a lot of emphasis on the journey. Can you speak to the concept and importance of repetition?
Yes that’s true. Repetition is incredibly important—it’s a practice—this is the journey you’re not going to get here unless you are committed every single week. You’ll never get over this hurtle unless you make this commitment. From birth to enlightenment is the journey.
